Praxair Canada, Inc. , a leading supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, has an opening in our Winnipeg, MB branch location for a:

Service Technician - Microbulk

Reporting to the Microbulk Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of our liquid CO2 and nitrogen storage vessels, calibration of nitrogen generators and gas mixers at customer sites throughout Manitoba and Northern Ontario.

  • Maintenance and service of rental equipment and inventory of parts

  • Perform equipment calibrations and complete certification reports

  • Troubleshooting, minor repair and maintenance of Microbulk tankers

  • Handle or assist with after-hours troubleshooting of equipment problems

  • Assist with installation of Microbulk vessels, gas mixers and nitrogen generators

  • Deliver liquid CO2 in a tandem axle tanker when required for driver vacation coverage

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager or service coordinator


Minimum job related qualifications :

  • Knowledge of pipe, pressure or plumbing systems

  • Valid, incident free, applicable provincial Class 3 Driver's License with air brake endorsement and 3 years’ experience.

  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and ability to determine the root cause of problems.

  • A very good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

  • Able to work independently and deal with customers professionally and effectively

Other Considerations:

  • Self motivated and organized individual, capable of working with minimum supervision.

  • Team player who has a strong customer and safety focus and works well contractors.

  • Knowledge of fountain and draught beverage systems.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Have a strong commitment toward safety. Remain attentive in hazard recognition.

  • Experience in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) [considered an asset]

  • Must have basic computer & mobile device skills for email and summary reports in Excel.

  • Knowledge of the food & beverage industry would be an asset

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand gas systems would be an asset.
