The Global HyCO division of Praxair, Inc. is currentlyseeking a Production Technician in Texas City, TX. The production technician,working under the direction of lead technicians and the facilitiessuperintendent, has responsibility for supporting day-to-day operations at theHU 3/4 facility.

Thefacility produces Hydrogen via Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) technology. In thisrole, you will be responsible for operating the equipment associated withHydrogen reformers and H2 distribution system.

Dutieswill include:

  • Adjustments to process variables

  • Startup and shutdown of process equipment

  • Preparing equipment for maintenance work including lock-out tag-out

  • Correctly and safely permitting maintenance work

  • Monitoring equipment performance

  • Responsibilities require 12 hour shift rotation, on-call, and scheduled overtime

  • Effectively communicate with fellow operators, technicians, engineers, and managers

  • Adhere to all Corporate and Plant policies

  • Maintain the highest degree of personal safety and environmental accountability at all times

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping

  • Participate in daily and monthly safety and production meetings

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma; Associates degree preferred

  • 2 years Production/Operations experience or equivalent industrial experience.

  • Working extended hours and/or weekends, holidays and call-ins may be required.
