Team Leader

  • Ensure compliance with workplace instructions and policies

  • Provide customer service

  • Provide training using SOPs, JIs, JSAs, and supplemental materials

  • Maintain training records

  • Lead the team in continuous improvement toward team’s goals

  • Act as Operations Technician as needed (approximately 20% of the time)

  • Facilitate communication with team members

  • Maintain own skill level on all jobs needed to process customer parts

  • Lead team meetings, and shift turnover meetings

  • Organize and schedule work activities to meet team goals and customer’s needs

  • Schedule vacations and track attendance for team members

  • Review and approve time sheets

  • Provide encouragement, coaching, counseling, and discipline when required

  • Prepare performance appraisals and conduct appraisal interviews

  • Provide salary adjustments to team members

  • Conduct job interviews

  • Maintain employee files

  • Lead by example in the STOP program

  • Draft safety incident reports

  • Keep workplace clean and organized

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Communicate and work well in a diverse environment

  • Leadership ability

  • Positive and highly motivated

  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, E-mail

  • Shop math skills

  • Able to operate complex process equipment

  • Willing to lead shift other than “days”, and rotate through 3 shifts as needed.

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with post secondary education desired

  • Use hand tools, and perform hand finishing

  • Able to safely lift 40lbs, stand and/or sit for 8 to 12 hours

  • Must have technical understanding and practical experience of operations
