Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of aFortune 500 company, and a world leader in surface enhancement and relatedtechnologies, has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality ControlTechnician at its Thermal Spray Consumables Powder Plant facility inIndianapolis, Indiana


Serving as a working team member, the QC Lab Tech supports, participatesand assists in leading in the activities within a team of technicians (teammembers). The QC Lab Tech demonstrates total commitment to performingoperations in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with required safetyand quality standards and continuous improvement. The QC Lab Tech will workunder moderate supervision and may assist in training and developing other teammembers.

Responsibilities include :

  • Safely performsa variety of analytical testing for Final and In-Process production samples andRaw materials, calibrate testing equipment, and perform other duties asassigned

  • Ensures proper documentation on allreports, accurately enters sample data to QC database

  • Ensures proper operation of measurementequipment by following operating and calibration instructions

  • Works in any of the following areas ofquality control: incoming material, process control, product evaluation,inventory control

  • Participates in internal and external laboratoryaudits.

  • Maintains a safe and clean workenvironment by following guidelines and procedures, and complying with allapplicable regulations

  • Must haveexcellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to workin a fast paced environment, adapts easily to changes and attention to detail

  • Must be able toeffectively participate as a team member to meet safety and customerrequirements while continuously improving processes

  • Must be aneffective problem solver and be able to work safely and under pressure

  • Strongorganizational and multi-tasking skills and work initiative along with the ability to effectively manageproject deliverables

  • Mustprioritize and organize workflow, learn quickly and independently within scopeof ability

  • Good basicmathematical aptitude required

  • Overtime, weekend,and holiday work may be required

  • Must be willingand able to work various shifts


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

  • 1 to 3 yearsof manufacturing experience preferred

Access to exportcontrolled technology/technical data and/or items required to perform thisPosition are subject to the laws of the United States (including but notlimited to the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR"), 15 C.F.R.Parts 730-799, and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations("ITAR"), 22 C.F.R.
