Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking an Outside Sales Representative / Territory Manager. This position will work in our Industrial Coatings Service business unit and will be based on the West Coast of the U.S., preferably in CA.

The Outside Sales Representative / Territory Manager will be responsible for generating sales to existing and new accounts within an assigned territory. You will be accountable for achieving quota by hunting new customers and growing existing relationships in industries such as Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Printing and General Engineering. We are seeking a diligent self-starter who is passionate about working with customers and solving their application challenges.

Outside Sales Representative / Territory Manager

  • Promotes sales and provides account service to assigned and potential customers

  • Focuses on sales quota achievement through new business development & building customer relationships

  • Contacts existing accounts and develops new prospects

  • Responsible for establishing pricing and securing new business

  • Improves the profitability of existing accounts by fully understanding value propositions

  • Supports and implements marketing plans, promotions and new product launches

  • Secures long term relationship by negotiating supply agreements

  • Maintain list of target accounts by generating and qualifying new business leads using CRM tool and meeting/exceeding sales metrics

  • Conducts competitive intelligence

  • Demonstrates product value to new account customers

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Engineering degree preferred; mechanical aptitude is a must

  • Prefer 3 years Outside Sales experience in Technical / Industrial industries

  • 1 years of experience in relevant industries

  • Prior sales success

  • Experience or familiarity with Thermal Spray and other industrial coatings preferred

  • Spanish speaking ability is a plus

  • Competent computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), CRM experience is a plus

  • Ability to travel 50-75% (mostly by car)
