POSITION QUALIFICATIONSUMMARY:

The Data Scientist will be a member ofthe Linde Digital Advanced Analytics team, part of the larger Linde Digitalorganization. They will be completely dedicated to the Praxair SurfaceTechnology (PST) business. In this role, they will apply analytics, datascience and operations research techniques to solve challenging problems acrossoperations, supply chain management and business.Project opportunities will include but are not limited to visualization,robotic process automation, statistical analysis, data modeling, predictivemodeling, and optimization. The candidate will be asked to combine anunderstanding of business problems with data driven decision making tosignificantly impact PST’s operating profit.

The candidate will be involved in the developmentof analytics applications from proposal through commercialization and beexpected to work closely with the operations, business and IT teams. As aresult, he/she will need to develop credible business cases for new applicationsand lead the product development. He/She will also be expected to continuouslyimprove their skills to take advantage of analytics best practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Involved in technology developmentfrom concept initiation through commercialization and work closely with the businessorganizations

  • Actively participate in thetechnical development and lead project execution involving multi-disciplinaryteams

  • Support new data science development while maintainingand improving existing applications

Qualifications

Basic

  • BSin Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Statisticsor Operations Research with a specialization in data science or related area

  • 3 years of relevant industry experience particularly in manufacturingenvironments

  • Demonstratedleadership skills

  • Abilityto collaborate with internal business partners to find new ideas, understandrequirements and develop appropriate technical solutions

  • Exceptionalpresentation skills with the ability to succinctly convey complex solutions tobusiness stakeholders and executive leadership

  • Availabilityto travel up to 30% (domestic and international)

Preferred

  • MSor higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science,Statistics or Operations Research with a specialization in data science orrelated area

  • Ability to develop, implement andsupport data science pipelines in Python or other programming languages

  • Experience designing and leveragingrelational databases

  • Experience with visualizationsoftware, preferably Tableau

  • Experience with developing anddeploying robotic process automation (RPA) solutions

  • Hands-on experience and theoreticalunderstanding of machine learning techniques
